Display Currency and Country Indication
DNA GENICS, S.L. may show product and cart prices in euros (EUR) or US dollars (USD) for your convenience. This is a display-only feature: the price you pay at checkout remains in EUR through our payment providers (PayPal, Stripe, Redsys, and similar).
How we choose the display currency
On your first visit, or when you have not yet chosen a currency, we may determine a suggested display currency as follows (first applicable rule):
-
Your explicit choice: If you have already selected EUR or USD using the currency switcher,
we use that choice and store it in the
dnagenics_currencycookie. -
Approximate country: Our content delivery network (Microsoft Azure Front Door) derives an
ISO country code (for example
USorES) from your connection IP address and forwards it to our servers in the request headerX-Azure-FD-Country. We do not receive your full IP address in this cookie. If the country is one where we offer USD display (currently United States and certain US territories), we may suggest USD and store that preference indnagenics_currency. -
Browser language: If country indication is unavailable, we may use your browser's
Accept-Languagesetting (for exampleen-US) to suggest USD. - Default: Otherwise we show EUR.
Search-engine crawlers and similar automated agents are always shown EUR and do not receive the
dnagenics_currency cookie.
Legal basis and your control
The dnagenics_currency cookie is classified as a functional / preferences cookie.
It is not used for advertising, cross-site tracking, or profiling. Where required under the ePrivacy rules and
GDPR, we rely on your consent for non-essential preference cookies (manageable via our Cookiebot banner under
"Preferences") and, for the initial country-based suggestion, on our legitimate interest in presenting prices in a
familiar format (Article 6(1)(f) GDPR), balanced against your right to object and to change or withdraw your choice at any time.
You can:
- Switch between EUR and USD at any time using the Currency control in the website header or onboarding checkout header;
- Delete the
dnagenics_currencycookie through your browser or our Cookiebot preferences panel; - Disable cookies entirely (prices will default to EUR, but some site features may not work as intended).
